Daniel’s Project

Mental Health America of West Central Indiana now provides street outreach services to identify individuals experiencing homelessness and who also have a mental illness.

Mental Health America of West Central Indiana, Inc. was recently awarded a grant to implement a homeless outreach program in Indiana Region 7 from Indiana Division of Mental Health & Addictions (DMHA) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

Daniel’s Project, a PATH program, was created to provide street outreach to identify individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless to offer assistance in linking to community resources. This program is aimed at closing the service gap for this population and allowing the opportunity to receive the needed services to work toward self-sufficiency. Daniel’s Project serves the following counties:

  • Vigo
  • Clay
  • Putnam
  • Sullivan
  • Vermillion

To be eligible, individuals must be experiencing homelessness or be at risk of homelessness and be experiencing a serious mental illness.
